The Orange Community Information and Services Centre is a community resource centre that offers a variety of services and information to the residents of Orange and surrounding district.

The following services are located at the Community Information and Services Centre:

  1. Council's Community Services Manager is responsible for working with the Orange community in identifying needs, lobbying for funds, planning and developing services. This position also acts as a resource to Council and the community. A key aim of this role is to maintain effective and efficient delivery of Council's community services.

  2. Council's Community Development Co-ordinator provides support and assistance through community consultation with local community organisations and agencies.  Other support is offered by effectively implementing strategies outlined in the Orange Community Plan 2007-2011, in conjunction with government and non-government agencies.  Phone 02 6393 8607

  3. Orange & Cabonne Road Safety Officer aims to develop and implement programs to reduce road crash statistics through community development and educational programs.  Phone 02 6393 8620

  4. Youth Development Officer initiates projects in response to identified needs of young people in Orange and the Central West. The position aslo networks with other youth services to ensure any gaps in service provision are addressed. Phone 6393 8628

  5. Customer Service and Information Officer provides information and referral of local community services.   6. Migrant Support Worker provides information, referral and individual casework to newly arrived and socially isolated migrants living in the Local Government Area. The Worker also provides outreach to Cabonne, Forbes and Parkes shires.  To complement this service, a Migrant Mentor Program coordinates a team of volunteers to support new migrant families in the region.   7. Orange Family Day Care Scheme is a community based childcare service which offers professional support to approved Family Day Carers to ensure quality child care in private homes. Phone 6393 8610

  8. Children's Services Coordinator oversees all of Council's children's services to ensure quality and professional services are provided to the Orange community. Phone 6393 8624

  9. Supported Playgroups Coordinator will work closely with the Orange Aboriginal community and has grown from the success of the Orange Bush Babies Playgroup. The position will coordinate two playgroups for families who may otherwise find it difficult to access such a service. Phone 6393 8600

  10. No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) provides low income consumers with flexible and affordable credit in the form of a no interest loan to purchase basic household goods. Appointments are essential. Phone 02 6393 8600
