Orange Mayor, Cr John Davis, has welcomed the announcement that the Governor-General of Australia will visit Orange next week.
The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, and her husband, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, will spend next Monday 13 May in Orange in a visit intended to highlight National Volunteer Week, and the quality of education services in the region.

Orange City Council would be amalgamated with neighbouring Cabonne and Blayney Shire Council if the recommendations of the Local Government Independent Review Panel report are accepted.
The report suggests amalgamating 21 rural councils into nine new council entities.

Volunteers from the Orange Bunnings store have helped ‘spruce up’ the setting for Thursday’s Anzac  Day ceremony in Robertson Park.
Four tall yellow poles that mark the boundaries of the Cenotaph site were given a fresh coat of paint.

First glimpse at Museum - 18th April 2013
There was a positive community reaction as Orange residents took their first look at concept images for the proposed new Orange Regional Museum. More than 50 residents turned out 17 April to the Civic Theatre forum to see the plans unveiled.
Work on re-building the weir at the Orange Botanic Gardens is reaching its final stage.
The last concrete pours have happened this morning (17 April) at the gardens.
