The Orange Community Information and Services Centre is a community resource centre offering a variety of services and information to the residents of Orange and surrounding district.

The following services are located at the Community Information and Services Centre:

The Community Services Manager, Louise Geaghan is responsible for working with the Orange community in identifying needs, lobbying for funds, planning and developing services. This position also acts as a resource to Council and the community. A key aim of this role is to maintain effective and efficient delivery of Council's Community Services.

The Senior Children's Services Coordinator, Melissa Stanford oversees Council's children's services to ensure quality and professional service provision. These services include: Occassional Care, Family Day Care, Out Of School Hours Care (OOSH), Spring Street Children's Centre, Yarrawong Children's Centre, Courallie Park Child Development Centre, and the Children's Services Administrator.

The Orange & Cabonne Road Safety Officer, Andrea Hamilton Vaughan aims to develop and implement programs to reduce road crash statistics through community educational programs. 

The Road Safety Officer has two key objectives:

  • Increase the priority of road safety within Local Government and Local Government representative agencies
  • Improve the coordination of Local Government road safety activities with State and National road safety initiatives

The Out of School Hours (OOSH) Team Leader, Seini Fosio coordinates the operation of the centre-based care before and after school, on pupil-free days and on all-day holidays for primary school children aged 5-12 years. Bookings are made by contacting the OOSH team leader via Community Services.

 

The Orange Supported Playgroup Coordinator, Kelly Birch provides support to the existing Bush Babies playgroup and is working with the community to facilitate engagment of families with mainstream early childhood services. The role is responsible for conducting a range of activities that support the transition to school process.  ole whilst Kelly is on leave. 

 

Also located within the Community Information and Services building are the following services:

Step Up Loansprovide low income comsumers with flexible and affordable credit in the form of a low interest loan. Julie is available fortnightly on a Thursday during business hours. To make an appointment phone 6332 4866 or email bhs_sul@josephitefndn.com.au

 

Centroc is a voluntary regional collaboration of councils in Central NSW.
