Orange City Council auspices a range of services for older people, people living with disabilities and their carers. There are several committees dedicated to identifying and meeting the needs of older people and Council staff are actively involved in facilitating programs such as Seniors' Week.

Council facilitates the celebration of Seniors Week in March each year, which is an opportunity to mark the contribution of older people to our community.
The work of volunteers in our community is celebrated each year on International Volunteers Day, which is 5 December.

Orange City Council acknowledges the Home and Community Care Program managed by NSW Human Services - Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC) for funding to provide services for older people, people with a disability and their carers.
The Community Support Coordinator oversees these services and is located in the HACC building at 286 Lords Place. The postion provides support and supervision to the Ageing and Disability Services Team and is responsible to Council for the management of the Home and Community Care Centre.

The Community Development Officer - Ageing and Disability Services provides information to members of the target group who are seeking support. She is involved in the identification of needs in the community and assists in the development of appropriate services in response to identified need. Facilitating and partipating in several committees, this position is the link between the community and Council.
The Orange Access Advisory Community Committee is a community committee of Council that provides a forum for older people and people living with a disability to discuss matters of access to facilities and services in the community. The committee supports the provision of accessible facilities in Orange and encourages members of the community to bring to the attention of Council any access issues that may be addressed at a Council level.
