The tranquil surroundings of the Canobolas Scout Camp are a great setting for corporate functions and school excursions. Originally built by local scouts, the venue is now managed and operated by Orange City Council. With NSW Government assistance, the Council has begun a $1.8 million upgrade of buildings and services on the site. The Council continues to seek government assistance to continue this upgrade. In May 2021, on the Your Say website, the Council asked for community comment on a new draft masterplan to guide the future development of the Scout Camp and Lake Canobolas precinct.
Located across the road from Lake Canobolas, the site provides a commercial kitchen, sports field, dormitory accommodation, basic amenities and camping areas. The facilities are well-suited for group bookings (minimum group numbers apply) but are not available for individual camping.
