Beethoven and Tchaikovsky Orchestral Concert
August 4 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
|The Orange Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with the Colour City Chamber Orchestra, proudly present an afternoon of sensational classical music from Beethoven and Tchaikovsky.
The OSO will be conducted for the second time by Carlo Antonioli, a rising star of Western Australian Symphony Orchestra.
Andrew Baker is the Founder and Leader of the CCCO and he will be the soloist in Beethoven’s iconic Violin Concerto.
Ludvig Van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major for solo violin and orchestra is one of the earliest and most famous violin concerti performed on a grand scale. Premiered in Vienna in 1806 it was Beethoven’s only concerto for violin and considered to be his most lyrical work.
The Symphony number 5 in E minor by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky composed in 1888, was first performed in St Petersburg with Tchaikovsky conducting. After the second performance he concluded it was a failure but it went on to become one of his most popular works. During the Siege of Leningrad on the 20th October 1941, the Leningrad Radio Orchestra performed the Number 5 live on radio broadcast to London, as bombs were falling.Tickets on sale Thursday 21 March 9.00am
