Beneath the Surface: School Holiday Program

April 20, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

Create your own underground world inspired by ‘How Cities Work’

There’s a whole world below our feet. From fossils and archaeological sites to train tunnels and sewer pipes, come along and imagine what lies beneath the surface.

Create your own underground world in a shoebox – be it an ancient world, a paleontological paradise or the home of a burrowing animal. Then see if you can lay the foundations for a modern city without disturbing your underground world.

This school holiday activity is inspired by our new exhibition How Cities Work, a travelling exhibition from Sydney Living Museums.

Please bring along a shoebox for each child participating in the workshop.

Suitable for kids aged 6+

About How Cities Work

Explore the city inside out, top to bottom in a whole new way at How Cities Work. From skyscrapers to underground networks, this interactive family exhibition reveals the secret workings of our busy urban centres.

How Cities Work is a travelling exhibition from Sydney Living Museums.
