Exhibition Opening: ‘Pat Ford – Pride of Orange’

April 30 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The Mayor of Orange, Councillor Reg Kidd, invites you to the opening of ‘Pat Ford – Pride of Orange’

In 1947, 16-year-old Pat Ford stepped into the ring at the newly established CYMS boxing club in Dalton’s Mill. By 1950 he was the Australian Amateur lightweight champion. Going professional the following year, Pat rose quickly to claim the Australian and Empire (Commonwealth) lightweight titles, before retiring to run his own butchery in 1955.

Celebrating the life and career of a remarkable Orange sportsman, this exhibition features rarely seen photographs, film footage and sporting memorabilia.

6pm for 6.30pm

FREE, all welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

This is a COVID safe event. Tickets are limited and bookings are essential.
