Have your say on the new Everyone Can Play guides – industry workshop
December 5, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Everyone Can Play guideline has transformed the way play spaces are planned, designed, delivered and managed. Council have used the Guidelines to create more than 140 new and upgraded inclusive play spaces across NSW.
The way the community uses playspaces continues to change, and in response to feedback from councils, industry and users, the Everyone Can Play Guideline has been updated to include three new chapters that encourage and promote even better inclusive playspaces.
Building on the principles of ‘Can I get there? Can I play? Can I stay?’ we are seeking feedback on the new chapters:
• Nature Play – explores the way people engage with the natural environment and provides useful tips on creating a nature play space in your area.
• Place and Play – incorporates local knowledge, materials, artists, plants, climates, cultures and stories into play spaces and provides useful tips on connecting with the unique characteristics of spaces in your area.
• Water Play – promotes interaction with water in a controlled environment and provides advice on creating water play spaces in your area.
At this workshop, you will hear about the progress of the Everyone Can Play Program, more about the new chapters and there will be opportunity to offer your feedback and input on the finalisation of the new chapters.
There will also be a guest presentation on Water Play by Ian Andrews, Executive Manger Open Space from Campbelltown City Council who will share insights on the planning and design of the Campbelltown Billabong Parklands, a ground breaking new water attraction.
