Our place in the universe is very small. From our blue planet Earth, we can peer into the night sky and see the cosmos, bringing to life its beauty with the aid of modern telescopes, cameras and image processing software. The central west is an ideal place to do astronomy, being blessed with superb skies and low levels of light pollution. For amateur astronomers like Niall MacNeill and Rodney Watters, there are few better places to observe and photograph the heavens.

Niall & Rodney will share the beautiful sights they have photographed over several years from the central west. Expanding outwards from the Earth and starting with our closest neighbor, the Moon, they will take us on a journey through our solar system. Looking at inner rocky planets to the gas giants and then beyond to the ice giants, we will also look at objects such as nebulae and star clusters within our galaxy, then finally, at immense distances, a fantastic array of galaxies millions of light-years away.
