The 1969 Band with Orchestra – Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the greatest year in music

|The 1969 band makes a triumphant return to the Orange civic theatre with their two-hour concert “1969- A live tribute to the greatest year in music”. The concert is a celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of this remarkable year in music and features their five-piece band performing with with an Orchestra to iconic visual footage behind the band screening the events that changed history; Man on the Moon, Woodstock, Vietnam, Peace protests and so many others.
The repertoire of songs are timeless, transporting you back to classics including; “Gimme Shelter” from the Stones, Joni Mitchell’s “Clouds”, “Purple Haze”, “Space Oddity”, “The Real Thing” and an amazing orchestrated version of the complete “Abbey Road Medley” by the Beatles.
This return to the theatre is a special performance for the band as most of it’s members live in Orange. The band features well known local artists Pat and Kellie O’Donnell, Kyle Manning, Matt Arthur and adopted citizen from Ebenezer NSW Mr David Egan on Drums.
Fifty years later 2019 is the time to Turn on, Tune in, drop out of the 21st century and take a journey home to 1969.Tickets on sale 9am Tuesday 26 March 2019
