Council launches ‘Shop on Us’ voucher promotion to boost Lords Place South businesses

Orange shoppers will have an extra reason to rediscover the range of businesses operating in Lords Place south, following the launch of Orange City Council’s ‘Shop on Us’ shopping voucher scheme.

Orange Mayor Jason Hamling said the new shopping promotion was starting as the first stage of construction work in Lords Place comes to an end.

“With the first stage of the upgrade now completed, we’re getting a glimpse of how fantastic this street will look,” Cr Hamling said.

“We really appreciate the patience of the Lords Place south businesses during the construction work of recent weeks. Council staff are having regular meetings with business operators and it was at one of these meetings that the suggestion of a neighbourhood shopping promotion was discussed.”

With Council support, $25 shopping vouchers will be given away by the Central Western Daily and Triple M next week. The vouchers can be spent in any participating business in Lords Place, between Summer and Kite streets. The ‘Shop on Us’ vouchers can be used from Monday
5 December until Friday 23 December.

“There’s such a range of unique and popular stores in Lords Place south and I’m hoping the new vouchers will lead to local shoppers rediscovering what’s on offer in this precinct as they make a start on their Christmas shopping,” Cr Hamling said.

“The radio campaign will take the message about Lords Place South across the central west region.”

The vouchers will be given away by the Triple M Roadies breakfast program car parked in Lords Place every morning next week, and by the Central Western Daily.

The Triple M giveaway will occur every morning in Lords Place south from Monday 5 December to Friday 9 December with the giveaway times announced on the breakfast show.

Details on the CWD draw can be found in the newspaper or on the CWD website. Council is also looking at a broader retail activation campaign for the CBD.

Stage 2 of the Lords Place south project, which includes the addition of shared space zones, seating and outdoor dining areas, will commence in the new year.
