Orange Community Christmas Carols inspiring message

By November 30, 2022December 2nd, 2022News

Orange Community Christmas Carols will once again bring the spirit of Christmas into the heart of Orange on Saturday 10 December.

The Carols, held at the Civic Centre North Court, are a family favourite event that aims to bring the community’s hearts and voices together at this important time of year. This year’s theme is ‘let’s sing together’.

Orange Deputy Mayor Gerald Power said he is looking forward to the event showcasing some of Orange’s brightest talents, singing modern and traditional Christmas carols.

’’You, your family and friends are warmly invited to the Orange Community Christmas Carols. Come and enjoy this free community event,” Cr Power said.

“We look forward to this year’s event really inspiring the community to come together; to sing, rejoice and acknowledge the importance of family, friends and community at this special time of year.”

There is a program full of fun, children’s entertainment, live music and performances from the Orange Regional Conservatorium, Orange Pipe Band and Orange Brass Band and several other performers.

The Wula Gurray Indigenous Choir will be a rousing performance and there will be a dance performance by Colour City Dance. A Christmas message and prayer will be delivered by Minister Bob Cameron of the St Barnabas Anglican Church.

A Christmas Carols event would not be complete without a visit from Santa to hand out packages of sweet treats to the children.

There will be something for everyone this year including local food and beverage stall holders, a Christmas Market for some last minute christmas shopping plus glowsticks and candles also available for purchase.

This is a free, family-friendly community event proudly hosted by Orange City Council.

“Bring a picnic blanket, a fold up chair and an appetite for singing together,” Cr Power said.
