The Friends of the Orange Regional Museum is the community support group for Orange Regional Museum.

The Friends of the Orange Regional Museum seek to support the Museum in fulfilling its role in the community and raising public awareness of the Museum, its activities and collections.

Membership categories

  • Individual Adult: $35
  • Individual Adult – Concession: $30
  • (holding a current pension card, NSW Senior’s card or valid student card)
  • Joint Adult: $50

Membership general rules:

  • All members will be issued a membership card
  • The membership card will state, membership category, date of expiry and name of member.
  • Memberships are non-refundable
  • Memberships can only be paid as a single annual fee. No half-year or shorter memberships will be offered
  • All members will be notified one month prior to the conclusion of their current membership and given the opportunity to renew via post or online.
  • All membership benefits can only be provided if the member shows a valid membership card
  • Only the person/persons listed on the membership card can claim the benefits
  • Membership benefits cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers

Individual membership

  • An individual membership is for one person.
  • The membership is only valid for the member named on the membership card.

Joint Adult membership

  • Joint Adult memberships can be for any two individuals, regardless of their relationship or whether they live at the same address.
  • Each member will receive a membership card
  • The membership is only valid for the two members named on the membership cards.
  • Both members contact details will need to be provided

Family membership

  • A family membership is valid for two adults and up to three children OR one adult and up to five children.
  • Up to two membership cards will be issued for the named adults
  • The membership is only valid for adult members named on the membership cards and accompanying children
  • A child is any person under 0-15 years of age

Youth Membership

  • A youth membership is for one person aged between 16- 25 year. Proof of age must be shown if requested
  • The membership is only valid for the member named on the membership card.
  • A youth membership can be purchased until an individual’s 26th birthday

Concession membership

  • The concession price applies to any valid NSW government concession card or student card for a tertiary or state institution.

As a community based organisation, Orange Regional Museum (ORM) aims to make its programs as accessible as possible by reducing costs. Through attaining sponsorship the museum can ensure that all members of the community can attend and engage with displays and programming.

Located centrally in a vibrant cultural precinct, Orange Regional Museum is able to offer community exposure to sponsors through advertising online, in print, via social media and during relevant programs. The museum has a diverse audience that exceeded 20,000 people between November 2016 – June 2017 with over 2500 attending events and school programs.

Sponsorship Agreement

As a part of Orange Regional Museum’s sponsorship agreement, a sponsor will need to agree to the follow clauses relating to insurance:

  • Sponsor acknowledges and agrees that ORM does not maintain insurance covering the Sponsor’s property or liability for any Claim against the Sponsor or its staff, employees or subcontractors relating to its activities or property associated with the Sponsorship.
  • The Sponsor must hold and maintain during the term of the Agreement: ◦a public liability insurance policy for a sum of not less than $10 million per claim arising from any one Event in respect of accidental death of or accidental bodily injury to persons, or accidental damage to property, arising out of or in the course of the Sponsor’s activities at the Event; and
  • Workers’ compensation insurance policy in relation to any employees of the Sponsor.
  • The insurances must be effected with an insurer that is authorized and licensed to operate in Australia.

Local businesses are invited to contact the museum about future sponsorship opportunities.

Donations are utilised for different purposes that directly benefit the Museum and the collection. Donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.

Plan your visit

Venue Information

Open 9am-4pm daily (closed 25 December).

Entry to the Museum is free. Group visits are welcome and free of charge, but please contact us to make a booking for groups of 10 or more.


Bathrooms, including disabled and baby changing facilities, are available on site.

Parking is available in front of the Museum on Byng Street and in the Council carpark accessed from Lords Place. Larger vehicles (including buses) can find parking on Peisley Street.


Orange Regional Museum is fully accessible for prams and wheelchairs. A courtesy wheelchair is available for use.
