Pinnacle Road remains closed after snow

Pinnacle Road remains closed today (Tuesday June 15)  as tree crews work to clear branches after last week’s snow.

The snow caused significant damage to trees in the area causing potential traffic hazards.

The snow caused many tree branches to break, and partially break under the weight of the snow. Crews have cleaned up much of the debris, however there are still many branches ‘hanging on’ which need to be removed in the event they fall on passing cars, cyclists and people.

Pinnacle Road is closed at Wallis Lane as the Council tree crew and a contractor remove the hanging branches between the Pinnacle car park and Wallis Lane.

The road has been successfully cleared from the Pinnacle car park to the Orange City Council boundary.

The aim is to clear the remaining hanging branches tomorrow and the road may re-open soon after.

On Thursday, winds are expected to reach speeds of 3okm per hour so there may be more branches affected.
