The Aquatic Centre and COVID-19

All pools are open at the Orange Aquatic Centre.

As we all adapt to the ‘new normal’ in terms of COVID-19 restrictions and keeping every safe, we’re now at the point where we can welcome anyone to the Orange Aquatic Centre without a booking.
If you would like to lap swim, jump in for recreational swimming or do some gentle exercise, there’s no need to book just come on down.
We are limited to the number of people allowed in the centre at any given time so there may be times, as we head into summer, where the centre is at capacity and people may have to come back at a later time.
You must sign-in using the QR codes at the door, or the paper sign-in sheet at the front desk.
Please be respectful of our staff as they do their duty to keep everyone safe while swimming, but also adhere to COVID-19 safe guidelines.

Normal opening hours for the pool  are Monday to Friday 5.30am to 7.30pm, Saturdays 5.30am to 7pm, and Sunday 8am to 7pm.

ACTIVE SUPERVISION

Our lifeguards do their best to watch everyone as often as possible but our lifeguards aren’t ever going to be as effective as a watchful, attentive parent or carer. Take this opportunity to put down the phone, the laptop or the newspaper and jump in the pool with your child.

Play games and have some quality, uninterrupted time together.

• If your child is under 12 we recommend you are either in the water with them or at the closest entry point to the pool.

• All children under five must be within arm’s reach of a parent or carer.

• Please take children with you if you need to leave the poolside for any reason.

• Please be aware our staff have been directed to remove any child from the water if they are not being ‘actively supervised’ by a parent or carer.

• Any child under five not within arm’s reach of a responsible carer will be taken out of the water.

• The decisions of lifeguards are final, regardless of a child’s swimming ability.

• Please respect our staff and their actions.

Our lifeguards are acting on directions from Orange City Council and management. Patrons who disagree with lifeguards may be asked to leave the centre.

If you would like to discuss any of Orange Aquatic Centre’s policies please contact Iain Jones, Manager of the Orange Aquatic Centre – acentre@orange.nsw.gov.au

Or ask at reception for a Patron Feedback Form, or send an email to Council@orange.nsw.gov.au

Remember, children deserve
all of your attention, all of the time.
