Seniors in Orange are being encouraged to enjoy new experiences, continue learning, impart their skills, and have fun in the lead up to the 2019 NSW Seniors Festival.
With the theme ‘Love your Life’, the festival celebrates older people in the community and encourages them to live active and connected lives.
The Festival will run for 12 days from Wednesday 13 February to Sunday 24 February 2019.
Thanks to Orange City Council and Orange City Bowling Club, local seniors will be able to enjoy a Sweethearts Old Time Dance and Activity Day on Thursday 14 February 2019.
Orange City Council’s Services Policy Committee Chair, Cr Stephen Nugent said the events are an opportunity to build new connections across the community.
“The Sweethearts Dance is a great opportunity for seniors to come together, socialise and get active,” Cr Nugent said.
“Kicking off at 10.00 am at the Orange City Bowling Club, the day will feature dancing demonstrations from Orange Social Dance Group, music as well as the chance to try your hand at lawn bowls and mini golf.
“So grab your dancing shoes and head to this free event. So organisers can plan ahead, it’s easy to register your place by phoning 6393 8600.”
