Fold & Stitch – Book Art Workshop with artist, Avril Makula

Ever wondered how to make a Turkish map fold, a snake book, a Columbus cube, a pants book, a leporello or a double concertina? Learn these and more in this two-day, hands-on workshop with participating Artist and Co-curator of Place, Avril Makula.
Discover how simple but effective folding and stitching techniques can be used to make notebooks, journals and artists’ books. Suitable for all levels, you will have finished work to take home, as well as skills, ideas and plenty of food for thought for future projects.

Rogue Show 2019 Annual Sculpture exhibition

The Rogue Sculptors annual pop up exhibition at the Parkview Hotel Orange. A wide range of sculptural artworks using mediums such as metal, ceramic, paper, found objects, wood, and polymer. A great event showcasing some of the best sculptors in the Orange region. Preview is at 3.30pm with the official opening at 6 pm. Come along for wine, food and great art.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOP – ZINE-IT with Cecilie

A free, hands-on introduction to zine making for young creatives interested in sharing their art, writing and ideas. Students will discover zines from around the world, consider different formats and themes and then get creative making their own. Final zines will be photocopied to share amongst the group.
This workshop includes a mini-tour of Arlo Mountford’s exhibition Deep Revolt.

Q&A with Matt Ottley and Margrete Lamond – The Tree of Ecstasy and Unbearable Sadness

Join artist Matt Ottley and curator and founder of Dirt Lane Press, Margrete Lamond for a musical presentation and informal discussion of The Tree of Ecstasy and Unbearable Sadness; an exhibition of works created by Ottley as a point of entry to speaking publicly about the stigma and experience of living with a psychotic illness.

Matt Ottley: The Tree of Ecstasy and Unbearable Sadness (14 Sep – 13 Oct) is an Orange Regional Gallery exhibition curated by Margrete Lamond. Works represent a selection of images from an illustrated book for young adult readers to be published by Dirt Lane Press Inc.
