Loud and Proud: A poster-making workshop for kids (age 5-12 yrs)  

Check out the amazing display of posters in ‘Hearts and minds: wartime propaganda’ with our education team. Then have fun making your very own poster on something you feel strongly about.

A range of art materials will be available for poster making.

Thurs 14 January and Thurs 21 January 2021

10 am – 11.30 am

In conjunction with the exhibition ‘Hearts and minds: wartime propaganda’ on tour from the Australian War Memorial. 

This is a FREE event; bookings are essential.

All children must be signed in/out by a parent/guardian.

Visions of Country presents different impressions of land from the Orange Regional Gallery Collection. Spanning early Australian Modernists Roland Wakelin and Grace Cossington Smith to present day artists David Serisier, Elisabeth Cummings and Margaret Loy Pula, this selection reveals how depictions of land vary, and continue to change.

Orange Regional Gallery is offering free guided tours of Visions of Country with exhibition Curator, Lucy Stranger.

Spanning early Australian modernists to present day artists, Visions of Country presents works from the Orange Regional Gallery Collection that examine different encounters and impressions of land. A genre that grips the imagination of artists and the public, the landscape continues to inspire and challenge artists, with vast results.

“Alive and Creating” art exhibition will be springing up in the old Silmac building in Peisley Street Orange.
Colour City Creatives contemporary art group wants everyone to see art live and in full colour. Going to a gallery is safe, boosts our immunity and enriches your imagination. Come and get some good country colour therapy with a dose of contemporary art by a group of passionate artists from Orange. Let’s banish the covid blues and fill our lives with colour again… while still maintaining distance 🙂
Colour City Creatives is a self-run cooperative of creatives from Orange and surrounds and consists of painters, weavers, video artists, poets, photographers, glass artists, clay artists and sculptors. A wonderful group of local artists who love to share what inspires them because they find living here Artspirational.

Come and express your self through an Art workshop being run from the Glenroi/Orange Youth Hub.

Our local artist Codey McHatten will be running an art workshop teaching young people, aged between 12 and 24 years of age to express themselves through Art. Not to be missed.

Our Orange Youth Hub will be open every weekday throughout school Holidays for all young people aged between 12 and 24 years of age. There will be games, internet, music,, art, footy, food and a whole lot more in a clean and safe enviroment.

So calling all young people, 12 to 24 years of age, come down and get to know the staff and enjoy all these free activities these school Holidays. Hope to see you there!

Alive And Creating Art Exhibition

This year during Autumn, Colour City Creatives will be collaborating with the local entrepreneurial legends Gaye and Borry to mount an exhibition in their expansive cellar door space at Borrodell. Tim Winters a world renowned painter and print maker will be opening the Alive And Creating exhibition.
Come and meet the artists, enjoy the glorious view at Borrodell and if you’re peckish after the opening, the Sisters Rock Restaurant is only across the courtyard and has splendorous food!

Orange Regional Gallery – An Evening with the Collection

Join us at the Gallery for an evening of art, wine, and music. Learn more about the Orange Regional Gallery Collection and hear how the generosity of the Friends of Orange Regional Gallery contributes to new acquisitions.

See for yourself why our collection is so highly regarded as Gallery Director, Brad Hammond guides you through our current exhibition ‘Collection Highlights’.

The Orange Regional Conservatorium will also be represented by it’s Chamber Music Academy. This ensemble, featuring emerging musicians, sponsored by Godfrey Turner Memorial Music Trust, will provide a short performance of their current program.

This event is a fundraiser for the Friends of Orange Regional Gallery, with all proceeds going towards the purchase of new works for the collection.

Entry fee is $20 ($15 FORG members) payable at the door.
Refreshments included.
