Temporary traffic lights turned on as southern feeder road makes progress

By September 24, 2019 News, Roads

A new set of temporary traffic lights has been installed at the intersection of Blowes Road and Elsham Avenue, as work continues on the latest stage of the southern feeder road.

The lights have been installed by Haslin Constructions, the company building the new rail overpass bridge.

Due to progress on the construction site, only one lane of a nearby section of Elsham Avenue will be open for traffic in coming weeks.

The lights will affect traffic using the T-intersection at the corner of Blowes Road and Elsham Avenue.

Since the lights were turned on Friday last week, the timing of the lights has been adjusted to reduce delays for passing traffic. Council staff and the contractors will continue to monitor traffic impacts and make further adjustments is needed.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes and avoid the area if possible.

The lights are expected to be in place for about two months.
