Orange City Council provides young people with a wide range of social, educational and recreation programs to help them overcome challenges and connect with friends.

Youth Hub

Orange Youth Hub is a drop-in centre for youth aged 12 to 24. It is open every afternoon during the school term from 4pm to 6pm.

The Youth Hub provides a safe space for youth to hang out and socialise with young people their own age. It serves as a place for teenagers to seek guidance, but most importantly, a place to call their own. The Youth Hub offers programs during the school term for youth to be a part of, including music programs, life skills, volunteering and sporting programs.

The Youth Hub is open every day during the school holidays from 10am to 5pm and has a wide range of adventurous activities and days planned to keep the youth busy during their free time.

Daily activities include ping pong, a gaming room, pool tables, art workshops and a basketball court outside. The Youth Hub has weekly pool and ping pong competitions at night. The Youth Hub has a bus that is able to pick up and drop off your young person of an afternoon if travel is an issue.

Unlock Orange AR-T Walk (Augemented Reality Art Walk) app

Orange City Council’s Youth Services has developed the Unlock Orange AR-T Walk (Augemented Reality Art Walk) app in partnership with the Australian Government to showcase young peoples’ artworks which have been developed to depict and explore themes to increase tolerance, inclusivity and diversity. The project unlocks a new reality and allows viewers to experience art differently and hear the artist’s story behind the creation of the work.

A trail of markers has been placed across the Orange CBD, with QR codes that will open the Unlock Orange App. Viewers can use their iPhone or Android phone or a tablet device to download the app for free and discover the incredible pieces created by talented young Orange artists. Each artwork will be experienced differently. You just need the Unlock Orange App to start the journey.

If you are a local young artist and would like to have your works included in this project please complete the form below and email a copy of your artwork to [email protected]
